Warners Bay looks down the lake from its northern end, and the house that makes the most of that view has its biggest windows on it, so the room with the view is usually the hardest one to keep cool.
Warners Bay sits at the northern end of Lake Macquarie, about 15 km from the Newcastle CBD, and takes its name from Jonathan Warner, who settled the area. The 2021 census counted 8,237 residents. The waterfront esplanade runs about 9 km from Lions Park at Eleebana to the Museum of Art and Culture, yapang, at Booragul, with the Red Bluff boardwalk and its three viewing platforms built out over the water. Next door, Speers Point is the seat of Lake Macquarie City Council, with Cockle Creek on the suburb's western edge. Lakelands, on the western side, was once part of Warners Bay, and in 2015 a new residential area was built out into former bushland there, so many of its houses are young. Along Hillsborough and Macquarie roads there is an industrial estate with gyms, an ice rink, bowling and bulk stores.
